The measurements of the crossing, 8,22 x 8,22 metres, are the basic dimensions for the rest of the church. On the west side is a „Triumphal Arch“, a transversal arch of pale yellow Baumberger sandstone and green Anröchter dolomite. The east end of the Sanctuary, where the eucharist was celebrated, has a double transversal arch.
Nowadays the eucharist is celebrated at a new altar in the centre of the crossing. The last work for the church of Heinrich Georg Bücker, it is made of white African marble and depicts scenes from the Bible: the calling of Moses in The Old Testament, Christ breaking bread, Mary Magdalena’s confrontation with the risen Christ, and the Visitation of the Holy Spirit at Whitsun.
